Some Notes on Vision

I’m not saying it’s hard because people are watching me although surely they have been since I learned to put a ball in a hoop from anywhere within 15 feet but it’s because I want to be an NDN who starts something and finishes and I’ve seen my uncles finish a lot of things whether they started it or not and we haven’t stopped running and gunning since Custer’s last stand but now we do it in the community gyms and our tribe once had methods for boys to prove their strength but now we do it by the old cottonwood tree away from the lights of the powwow arbor where one boy swings with the force of twenty scared horses and his rise comes at another’s collapse into a clinic of dust and I once heard a pastor say that sin is misdirected desire and why do the struggling oldheads give the best advice like one night at a gas station when the stars rubbed the sky obsidian and Mike the Meddler stepped into the light of the station canopy and had a forest coming out of his mouth which means he was yelling my name and when I turned he said the curtain doesn’t drop between scenes and you won’t be able to get right
you’re either in the next act or you’re left
