Emanuel Xavier is the author of Love(ly) Child (Rebel Satori Press, 2023), Selected Poems of Emanuel Xavier (QueerMojo, 2021), Radiance (Rebel Satori, 2016), Nefarious (QueerMojo, 2013), If Jesus Were Gay (Rebel Satori, 2010, 2020), Americano (Rebel Satori, 2012), Pier Queen (Pier Queen Productions, 1997; QueerMojo, 2012), and the novel Christ Like (Painted Lead Press, 1999; Rebel Satori, 2019). He is also editor of Me No Habla With Acento: Contemporary Latino Poetry (Rebel Satori, 2011), Bullets & Butterflies: queer spoken word poetry (Suspect Thoughts Press, 2005), and MARIPOSAS: A Modern Anthology of Queer Latino Poetry (Floricanto Press, 2008).

Named an LGBTQ Icon by Equality Forum in 2010, Emanuel Xavier is an American poet and author of Latinx heritage. A former homeless gay teen, survivor of child abuse, and part of the ball scene, he has staged many benefits for queer youth and is a longtime LGBTQ rights activist. Xavier founded the Penguin Random House LGBTQ Network and is on the Board of The Publishing Triangle.

Xavier is the recipient of a New York City Council Citation Award, International Latino Book Awards, Lambda Literary Award nominations, and American Library Association Over the Rainbow Books selections for his collections. He is the recipient of a Gay City News Impact Award and the Marsha A. Gomez Cultural Heritage Award.
